C. Douglas McDonald Elected to Board of Directors for the Ferguson-White Inn of Court

Tampa, Fla. – Carlton Fields is pleased to announce that Tampa Shareholder C. Douglas McDonald was elected to the board of directors for the Ferguson-White Inn of Court (the Inn). McDonald will serve a one-year term and will be responsible for planning and organizing the Inn’s programs throughout the year.

McDonald has been a Master of the Inn for six years. Masters are members admitted to the practice of law for at least 15 years at the beginning of their term of membership.

The Inn was formed in 1990. It is one of more than 300 in the U.S., part of the American Inns of Court that are designed to improve the skills, the professionalism, and the legal ethics with which the bench and the bar perform their functions. More than 25,000 judges, lawyers, law professors, and law students are members of the American Inns of Court.

McDonald has been involved in several legal and community organizations. He has previously served as president of the Kiwanis Club of Midtown Tampa; chair of the Intellectual Property Law Committee of the Florida Bar; chair of the Awards Committee and acting chair of the Trademark Committee for the American Intellectual Property Law Association; and editorial board member of The Trademark Reporter, a publication of the International Trademark Association.

As a shareholder at Carlton Fields, McDonald handles all aspects of intellectual property law, with a particular focus on litigation of patent, trademark and copyright matters. He is board certified in Intellectual Property Law by The Florida Bar and is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Stetson University College of Law.
