Tampa, Fla. – Carlton Fields’ Shareholder and Chair of the firm’s Healthcare practice, Jim Kennedy, was named one of the top “12 Attorney’s to Watch in 2012” by Attorney at Law magazine, the Tampa edition. Kennedy was selected for this feature as a result of his leadership of the firm’s healthcare practice and longtime commitment to clients in the healthcare industry.
Over the past 20 years, Kennedy has become a go-to general counsel to his clients. He is certified as a Health Law Specialist by The Florida Bar, a distinction earned by less than 1 percent of all lawyers admitted to practice in the state. His practice is multifaceted and he regularly counsels clients on health care business transactions, health care reform, hospital-physician joint ventures, fraud and abuse analysis and prevention, reimbursement and payment methodologies, managed care contracting, risk management issues, and corporate compliance matters.
Kennedy told the magazine that because healthcare is highly regulated, it requires a thorough understanding of the business needs and objectives of clients so that meaningful solutions can be crafted to comply with the infinite state and federal rules and regulations.
“Hospitals and physicians face enormous legal, regulatory, and financial challenges and we are there to support them in finding workable and compliant solutions.”
