At Carlton Fields Jorden Burt, the Gay and Lesbian Equality Network (GLEN) powers initiatives that have an impact within and beyond the firm.
- partnered with Equality Florida Institute to create and distribute A Legal Handbook for LGBT Floridians and Their Families (3rd Edition), an estate planning handbook for gay and lesbian families
- teamed up with Jenner & Block to represent the American Psychological Association as amicus curiae in the appeal of Florida’s gay adoption ban (in holding that the ban violated the Florida Constitution’s equal protection clause, the Court quoted our brief)
- heard from representatives of the American Civil Liberties Union’s LGBT Project on issues including efforts to stop bullying and harassment in Florida schools, and add sexual orientation to Florida’s employment discrimination law during our Second Annual Equality Day Luncheon
